A chair that you are no longer allowed to sit on, or a marionette hanging silently from its strings: many fascinating objects are difficult to exhibit in a museum. Some are too large, others too delicate, and still others cannot be touched or moved for conservation reasons. Exhibiting objects always requires a balancing act between the two central tasks of a museum: preservation and communication. As a result, visitors often have only limited access to the exhibits. But what possibilities do digital technologies offer for bringing objects to life? The exhibition explores the potential of digitalization and AI for the museum of the future. Seventeen experiments transform the exhibition space into a laboratory of the future, allowing the public to discover, among other things, the largest digital image ever created.
